Bruce Fradl
Bruce Fradl, 65 years old, died after a long illness at Bon Secours Hospital, Port Jervis, NY on Friday, June 17, 2016. Born to Gerhard and Nancy Fradl in New York City, NY, Bruce grew up in Mineola NY, moving to New Jersey in 1980. He has lived in Montague, NJ since 2001.
Bruce worked many jobs in sales, owned and operated Accent Painting and Decorating, North Country Construction, and along with his wife, Nina, the Beaver Lake Community Store and North Country Outfitters, where he introduced hundreds of people to the sport of fly fishing. Bruce later worked as Sales Manager for Select Comfort in Rockaway, NJ, and most recently manufactured fishing tackle at home as Montauk Saltwater Tackle Company. Bruce was an avid outdoorsman and took great joy in hunting and fishing, finding fulfillment teaching and sharing his knowledge, especially with the young.
For many years, Bruce chaired the Passaic Valley Chapter of Ducks Unlimited, raising tens of thousands of dollars for waterfowl habitat preservation. A talented woodcraftsman and painter, he won many awards for his waterfowl decoy carvings. He loved all animals, and was happiest at home with his devoted cats.
Bruce is the beloved husband for 39 years of Nina Fradl (nee D’Onofrio) of Montague, NJ. Dear brother of Gary Fradl of Boynton Beach, FL. Uncle of Brian Fradl of Selden, NY and Glenn Fradl of Holbrook, NY. He so deeply appreciated his brother-in-law, Dr. Joseph D’Onofrio, wife Joanne, and their children, Joseph, Jenna, and especially his fishing chum, Andrew.
The family will receive their friends for memorial visitation at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main Street, Franklin, NJ on Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 2-4 PM. Memorial service to follow at 4 PM.
