James (Jim) Milton Siglin, PE, an electrical engineer and long-time resident of Vernon, NJ died peacefully at the age of 54, on September 21st, 2018 after a long battle with cancer. He was at home in Gettysburg, PA surrounded by family.
Jim was born in Atlantic City, NJ on April 19, 1964 to Milton and Maria Siglin of Northfield, NJ. He is survived by his father, Milton Siglin; his wife, Kathleen Adams Siglin; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Heather Wolverton; grandchildren Harvey and Cybil; his daughter, Stephanie Siglin; and son, James Siglin. Jim is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Amy and Don Vass; his sister Kristin Sullivan; and their children.
Jim attended Mainland Regional High School in Northfield, NJ and was inducted this September into the Sports Hall of Fame for basketball. Jim graduated from Widener University in 1986 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was employed by Sussex Rural Electric Co-op from October of 1986 – 2016 holding various positions, including junior engineer, staff engineer, and engineer; serving as President and CEO from June of 2007 - December 2016. He also served as President and CEO of SREC Resources from 2007 - 2016. He joined Adams Electric Co-op, in Gettysburg, PA, as COO from 2017 until present. Jim previously served as the Chairman and Director of The Sussex County Chamber of Commerce and was the Director of the Sussex County Economic Development Partnership.
Jim was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was an exceptional man who had a passion for golfing with friends and colleagues while supporting many charitable organizations. He enjoyed volunteering through Vernon Township Recreational Sports, coaching his children in basketball, soccer, and little league. His favorite vacations were with family while skiing on the mountains or relaxing on the beach.
The family will receive their friends at St. Francis deSales RC Church, 614 Route 517, Vernon, NJ on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations made in Jim’s name to the Wounded Warriors Project or to St. Francis De Sales church in Vernon. Donations can be made online or by mail to the church, the mailing address is P.O. Box 785, McAfee, NJ 07428. Funeral arrangements by Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94, Vernon, NJ.
