Print
Ken Schumann, 55, passed away peacefully at Newton Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, November 10, 2018

Born in Belleville, NJ to Margaret “Peg” (Curran) and the late William Schumann, Ken was raised on Summit Lake in Stockholm, NJ before moving to Highland Lakes 28 years ago.

Ken was a great story teller with an amazing sense of humor. He enjoyed family vacations at the Jersey Shore and Captiva Island, fishing, The History Channel, cooking his award winning baked beans, the Mets and Jets, attending Rock Ribs and Ridges with his daughters, taking cruises, watching football on Sundays with Donna, and joking with his buddies

Predeceased by his father Bill Schumann, and father in law, Saverio DeMercurio, Ken is survived by his loving wife, Donna (DeMercurio) Schumann; daughters Jillian and Rachel Schumann of Highland Lakes, NJ; mother Peg Schumann of Stockholm; sisters Nancy Schumann (Michael Cox) of Lebanon, NJ, Audrey Johansen (Scott Titmas) of Morris Plains, NJ, and Heidi Robertson (Randy Robertson) of Hamburg; Mother in Law, Linda DeMercurio, of Vernon; Sister in Law and Brother in Law, Laura and Sal Giello of Warwick, NY. Also surviving are his nieces and nephew, Brittany, Dominic, Juliana, and Brennyn, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Ken also leaves behind his cherished pugs, Wally and Henry.

Cremation is private and under the direction of Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94, Vernon, NJ 07462. A Celebration of Ken’s life will be held in the near future. Memorial donations in Ken’s honor may be made to the Humane Society, or your local animal shelter.
