Obituary for Frank A. Izzo
Vernon: Frank A. Izzo, 85 died Wednesday April 25, 2012 at St. Anthony Community Hospital in Warwick, NY. Mr. Izzo, son of the late Vincent and Antoinette (Romano) Izzo was born in Brooklyn, NY August 11, 1926. Mr. Izzo resided in Brooklyn, NY moving to Barry Lakes section of Vernon in 1970.
Mr. Izzo worked as a chef for most of his life and then as an insurance salesman for MetLife for 20 years. He later retired from Sussex County Correctional Facility where he was a corrections officer.
Mr. Izzo was a US Army Veteran having served in Japan during WWII and was a Life Member of Wallkill Valley VFW Post #8441 of Vernon.
He was predeceased by his wife Mary E. Izzo in 1985 and is survived by his children, Antoinette Izzo of Vernon Twp., Vincent Izzo of Saddle Brook, Frank Izzo Jr. of Rutherford and Nancy Heffernan of Saddle Brook; brother, Vincent Izzo of Long Island, NY; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday May 1, 2012 at 9:00AM from Ferguson-Vernon Funeral home 241 Rt. 94 Vernon to St. John Vianney RC Church, Stockholm for a 10:00AM Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery, Vernon. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9PM. Memorial donations may be made to Wallkill Valley VFW Post #8441 P.O.
