Joseph Hladina, age 79 of Vernon, NJ passed away on Thursday, November 1st, 2018 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Warwick, NY.
Born in Karlsbad, Czechoslovakia to the late Anton and Rosa (Bohm) Hladina, Joseph became a US citizen and lived in Bergen County, before settling in Sussex County over 45 years ago. Joe worked a variety of jobs before retiring from the United Parcel Service, most recently working at the George Inn in Vernon.
Joe loved music, cars, and motorcycles. Always the jokester, he loved life and socializing with his family and friends. He was married to the love of his life, Camille (Zenga) Hladina from 1958 until her passing in 2008. Patricia Weber was by his side in the past few years and Joe expressed his love, gratitude, and blessings from their companionship together. He was truly blessed.
Predeceased by his wife, Camille (Zenga) Hladina; daughter Lisa Rossi; and sister Johanna Kakanis, Joe is survived by his daughter Karen John; his companion Patti Weber; step-daughters Courtney and Katherine Weber; and grandchildren Joe and Ashley Sevek, Keith and Tara Sevek, Jordan and Heather Sevek, Lauren and Matt Maloney, Bobby John, Jessica Ormsbee, Andrew and Amber Rossi, Steven and Sam Rossi, and Blake Weber; and great-grandchildren Lisa, Joseph, Miah, and Dominic Rossi, Isabella, Anthony, Jasmine, Vincent, Joseph, Timothy, Dylan, and Ava Sevek, and Abbigale Maloney.
A Memorial Mass for Joe will be held on Saturday, November 10th, 2018 at 11AM at St. Francis de Sales R.C. Church in Vernon.
