Obituary for Russell Henry Van Put Sr.

Cliffwood Lake, Stockholm, NJ: Russell Henry Van Put, Sr., 80 years old, died unexpectedly at Chilton Memorial Hospital, Pequannock Twp., NJ on Thursday, November 15, 2018. Born to Emil and Agnes Van Put in Prospect Park, NJ he had lived in Hawthorne, NJ before moving to the Cliffwood Lake section of Stockholm, NJ 53 years ago.

Russell worked as a truck driver for Teamsters Local 560, Union City, NJ for many years retiring in 1996. He was very active with the Senior Olympics earning USA All American Master, Track and Field for Discus in age groups 75-80 and 80-84. He was an avid follower of horse racing and college football. Russell was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother and son.

Russell is predeceased by his father, Emil Van Put and is the beloved husband for 58 years of Kathleen Van Put(nee Lebo). Devoted father of James Van Put and his wife, Brenda of Highland Lakes, NJ and Russell H. Van Put, Jr. and his wife, Susan of Kinnelon, NJ. Loving grandfather of Heather Greer and her husband, Dan, James Van Put, Jr. and his fiancée, Alex LaBarbera, Benjamin and Jay. Dear brother of Edward Van Put and his wife, Judy of Livingston Manor, NY. Dedicated son of Agnes Van Put of Livingston Manor, NY.

The family will receive their friends at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main Street, Franklin, NJ on Monday, November 19, 2018 from 10 to 12 Noon. Funeral service will commence at 12 Noon. Interment to follow at Glenwood Cemetery. Memorial gifts to American Heart Association, 1 Union Street, Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691-4183 would be appreciated.
