Obituary for John Machnicki
John Machnicki, age 61 of Highland Lakes, passed away on Wednesday, May 1st, 2019 at the Newton Medical Center.
Born and raised in Elizabeth to the late Edward R. and Lillian G. (McGrath) Machnicki, John also lived in Manasquan before settling in Highland Lakes many years ago.
John retired from United Support Solutions as Operations Director after several years of service.
An avid fisherman, John was a member of the Forest l. Woods group. He had an interest in antique cars, especially his 1937 Plymouth. John also enjoyed playing guitar and attending car shows. In his youth, he drag raced in Englishtown and the Asbury Park Circuit.
Predeceased by his parents, and brother Edward F. Machnicki and sister Betty Lou Williams, John is survived by his loving wife, Nancy (Clayton) Machnicki; and sisters Margaret M. Machnicki of Highland Lakes, and Nancy Gerdung and her husband Robert, of Boca Raton, Fl; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A visitation for John will be held on Sunday, May 5th, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94 (One VanderHoof Court for GPS), Vernon, NJ 07462. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, May 6th, 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Fatima in Highland Lakes. Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery.
