Obituary for Jean T. Munkacsy
Jean T. Munkacsy, age 97 of Newton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Bristol Glen.
Born in Pine Island, NY to the late Ludwick and Anna (Piasecki) Kazar, Jean lived most of her life in Hamburg, before moving to Bristol Glen in 2013.
Active in her community, Jean was a parishioner of the St. Jude’s Church in Hamburg, and a former member of the Hamburg Fire Dept. Ladies’ Auxiliary. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Jean loved her home, and always enjoyed cooking.
Predeceased by her husband, William Munkacsy; two brothers John and Walter Kazar; and four sisters Frances, Stella, Helen, and Bertha, Jean is survived by her loving daughters Carolann and her husband Ralph Van Blarcom, and Marion and husband Anthony Murphy; three grandchildren, Karen Eastman, Lisa Permunian, and Maggie (Murphy) Castro; two great-grandchildren Matthew and Rebecca; as well as her sister, Edith Wesneski.
A visitation for Jean will be held on Thursday, June 20th, 2019, from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main Street, Franklin, NJ 07416. A Funeral Mass for Jean will be on Friday, June 21st, 10AM at the St. Jude’s Church in Hamburg. Burial will follow in the North Hardyston Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either the Hamburg Fire Department or the St. Jude’s Church. Online condolences may be offered at www.fjohnramseyfuneralhome.com
