Obituary for Charles J. McManus Jr.
Charles J. McManus, Jr., age 78 of Hardyston Twp., passed away on Monday, July 29th, 2019 at his home.
Born in East Rutherford to the late Charles J. and Dorothy G. (Gross) McManus, Charles spent most of his life in Bergen County, eventually settling in Hardyston seventeen years ago. Charles worked as a printer and graphic designer for American Color in New York City.
Charles was a loving family man. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, and was a passionate fan of all things Notre Dame.
Predeceased by his siblings, Alice Lorenzen, Dolores Kaphan, and William McManus, Charles is survived by his sons Christopher and wife Melissa McManus of Saddle Brook, Todd and wife Kelly McManus of Jackson, NJ, and Chad and his girlfriend Astin Civitano of Hardyston; stepdaughter Denise and husband Brian Morgantini; and sisters Dorothy Schilling of Teaneck, Midge Mannino of Little River, SC, and Rita Hannah of Brackney, PA. He is also survived by his eleven loving grandchildren, Kelsey, Alexa, Taylor, Ethan, Carter, Skylar, Kayla, Pierce, Karly, Trent, and Ashley; as well as his close family friend, Denise Ruppe.
Visitation for Charles will be held on Friday, August 2nd, 2019 from 4-8PM at the F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main Street, Franklin, NJ 07416. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, August 3rd, 11AM at the St. Jude the Apostle RC Church in Hamburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation www.pulmonaryfibrosis.org. And the Healthwell Foundation www.healthwellfoundation.org
