Goshen, NY: Viola M. Sanders(nee Guest), 96 years old, died peacefully at Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown, NY on Wednesday, October 9, 2019. Born to Angus and Lizzie May Guest in Andover, NJ, she lived in Sussex, NJ for 30 years, then Pennsville for several years then back to Sussex, then Unionville, NY for 32 years before moving to Goshen, NY 4 years ago.
Viola worked for the Housekeeping Department at Newton Medical Center for many years before retiring. She was a doting mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Viola is predeceased by 3 daughters, Dorothy and Arbutus Ramage, Sandra Wildrick and 4 sons, Thomas Ramage, Robert Anderson, Floyd and Charles Sanders and 9 sisters and 4 brothers and is the devoted mother of Alice Henderson of Cortland, NY, Katherine Buchnam of Milford, PA, Marjorie Hess of Salem, NJ, Harriet Little of Wantage Twp., NJ, Elaine Schoonover of Hendrick, IA, Geraldine Gould of Middletown, NY, Harold Sanders of Kershaw, SC, and Larry Sanders of Unionville, NY. Dear sister of Violet Gould of Wantage Twp., NJ and Eva Hendershot of Newton, NJ. Cherished by 30 grandchildren, 80 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
The family will receive their friends at Ferguson Funeral Home, 27 Third Street, Sussex, NJ on Sunday, October 13, 2019 from 2-6 PM. Funeral service will be Monday, October 14, 2019 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Clove Cemetery, Wantage Twp., NJ.
