Obituary for Robert Francis Murray

Robert F. Murray, age 51 of Highland Lakes passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 22nd, 2019.
Born in Kerang, Victoria, Australia, to Patricia Parker (nee King) and Ronald Murray, Robert left Australia on a working holiday in 1995, travelling to Europe and eventually making his way to the United States where he met his wife Emily. He initially worked at Camp Vacamas in West Milford, and started at the Newark Water Treatment Plant in 2000 where he advanced through the organization to become Lead Operator, and where his co-workers were considered family. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson, listening to AC/DC, working out, and doing activities with his girls.
Rob was a great bloke; he was everybody’s mate. He was widely known for his fantastic Aussie sense of humor and “she’ll be right mate” attitude. He has countless friends across the globe mourning his passing. A warm, loving father and partner, he will be missed profoundly.
Predeceased by his wife, Emily Murray (nee Russell), Robert is survived by his two loving daughters Elizabeth and Mary-Jane Murray; his loving partner Michelle Woolley and her daughter Michaela, all of Vernon; his father Ronald Murray; his mother Patricia and her husband Leo Parker; his siblings, Heather Jones, Veronica Parker, Krystal Conlan, Douglas Parker, Bronwyn Carapellotti, Kerry Guest and Sharon Cheeseman; all of Australia. Robert is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Nick, Luke, Georgia, Deon, Sam, Isobel, Lucas, Bianca, Alannah, and Hayden.
A memorial visitation for Robert will be held on Sunday November 3rd, 2019 from 11am to 2pm at the Ferguson—Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94 (One Vanderhoof Court for GPS), Vernon, NJ 07462. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Elizabeth and Mary-Jane’s education.
