Obituary for Dorothy Hrbek

Dorothy ("Dottie") Hrbek (nee Ellis) , 87, of Little Ferry, NJ passed to eternal rest on July 5, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Old Kilpatrick, Scotland, Dottie immigrated to the U.S in January 1948 with her mother, Helen, and her brother, John. She met her husband Henry (Hank) on a blind date and were married on April 16, 1955. They were so happy to celebrate their 50th Anniversary in 2005 before Hank's passing in 2006.

Dottie was a homemaker for many years raising the couple's five children. She then worked for United Jersey Bank in their Loan Processing Department for 14 years before retiring in 1992.

She was a Past Matron of Evergreen Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. She loved to sing and her voice will live on in our hearts always. She also enjoyed spending time at her home-away-from-home in St. Pete Beach, FL for more than 20 years.

Dorothy was predecased by her parents John and Helen Ellis, and her husband Hank in 2006. She is survived by her brother, John Ellis.

Her greatest joy in life was being with her family as proud mom to her children Deborah Castelli and her husband, Edward Buscavage, Henry Hrbek and his wife Jane, Michael Hrbek and his wife, JoAnn, Dotsie Cyriacks and her husband, Dennis, and Eileen Burke and her husband, Michael.

Loving "Grandma" to Lauren Sherburne (Aaron), Brian Castelli, Michael John Hrbek (Lindsay), Amanda Ackerman (Michael), Samantha Bumbulsky (Anthony), Daniel Hrbek (Abby), Melanie Hrbek, Stefanie Hrbek, Jamie Hrbek, Dennis Cyriacks (Amanda), Danielle Taylor (Jason), Sabrina Cyriacks (Nicholas), Steven Cyriacks, Shamus Burke, Shannon Burke and Brett Burke. Predeceased by her three angel's Nicole, Henry and Christine

Loving "Grammy" to all her great grandchildren Jason, Matthew and Nicholas Sherburne, Madison Ackerman, Grace and Audrey Bumbulsky, Chloe and Leona Hrbek, Jordyn, Mackenzie and Brie Taylor, Dennis and Joslynn Cyriacks and Raegen, Paige and Tassie White, and Jaxson Naylor, with two more on the way.

She is also survived by her dear and very close friend, William "Bill" LaFave.

Cremation will be private at Cedar Lawn Crematory. A Memorial Service in her honor will be held in the weeks to come. The family asks that donation in her memory be made to The Shriners Children Hospital, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL. 33607
