I worked with Mary Jo for the last 6 years. She was the most caring and supportive, kindhearted person. She would give you the shirt off her back. She was like the "mother hen" watching over all of us. She knew when something was wrong, laughed and cried together, but always got the job done. If she knew you did not eat lunch or were having a bad day, a piece of chocolate or a cookie made it's way to your desk. The magic of Mary Jo. Her family was her life! She constantly spoke of Gary, her siblings.. especially her sisters and their girls trips, her kids and her wonderful grandchildren. She was the cool, fun Mom and grandma! A true angel that will never be forgotten. I am lucky to have known her and I extend my deepest condolences to her family. May she rest in peace and her memories always be cherished.

Rest in peace Mary Jo. We were friends way back in the 70's in Olean, NY. We spent a lot of time together when we were in our teens. I had lost track of Mary Jo, as our paths separated. Condolences to all the children, grandchildren and husband.

Gary - Words cannot express how sorry we are in the loss of Mary Jo - She was always a bright shining star with whomever she came into contact with. I am sorry I cannot be there to support you however, just know I am there in spirit. Love you My Cousin.

Truly an angel on earth! I've worked with Mary Jo for a few years and what a wonderful and kind hearted individual she was. We always had the greatest conversations of work and family. She will be missed. RIP Mary Jo.
My sincere sympathy to friends and family.

Mary Jo Huff was my-worker at Quality Control Department at Valley National Bank for about 3 years. Three years might not sound a lot to some people but to me it felt more like 10-15 years. She was a hard worker and a nice person. We had our laughs about a lot of different topics almost on a daily basis. She was a dedicated employee and work that was assigned to her and us together was always done on time. Our team work was outstanding. She was a professional and we never argued or fought about anything. She treated me like a son because she told me that her children were about the same age as me. If I would make some comments that she found somewhat outside of normal she would tell me without hesitation right away. I was perfectly fine with that. She was like office mother to me.
She always laughed with us. She was always curious about my travels, family history and my sports teams. Mary Jo always stopped during her lunch at some local store and would buy us some candies, cookies or pastries. We all liked to eat them. Everyone on our floor at 1445 Building loved her and she loved everyone.
When I heard this horrible news first time on Monday morning from 3 different people in a matter of 20 minutes I was shocked and just did not want to believe it. I do not think that I fully understood what happened for the rest of Monday. When I woke up Tuesday morning and drove to work I thought may be that it was just a dream. When I arrived to work and found her desk clean it hit me that it was not a dream and Mary Jo was gone.
It is so sad. This is the first time in my life that I lost a co-worker that I worked with. It is tragic that she left us in such an early age and did not have a chance to enjoy her life longer.
My deepest condolences to her husband Gary, all her children and grandchildren. Cherish her memory she was a nice person and from what I know a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
