Obituary

Matthew Fasbach, born April 5, 1971 in Bayshore New York, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021.

Before moving to New Jersey, Matt lived in New York on Long Island. He attended Centereach High School where he enjoyed playing hockey. After moving to NJ in 1985, Matt played football for Wallkill Valley Regional High School and was a member of the Class of 1989. From 2017 to 2020, Matt was elected and served on the Wallkill Valley Regional High School Board of Education. Matt was an avid Giants, Mets, and Rangers fan. Matt enjoyed nothing more than playing golf with his friends.

Matt loved his job, being employed as a Fire Inspector Service Technician for ADT Security Systems Services, Hawthorne NY.

Matt is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Margaret. He is survived by his loving brother, Andrew and his wife, Denise. Matt has always been the “Favorite Uncle” to Samantha, Katie, Kara, and Drew. Matt is also survived by his devoted friends and second family, George and Taryn Geuther, and their daughters who he adored, Chloe, Lily and Grayson. Matt was extremely proud to be the Godfather to Samantha, Grayson, and Ryan Millier. He is also survived by many dear aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Though taken too soon, Matt lived an extraordinary life, surrounded by so many people who loved and adored him. If you knew Matt, you loved Matt. He was truly everyone’s best friend.

Due to Covid restrictions, arrangements will be limited to close family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund.
