Obituary for Leo "Skip" Day Jr.
Leo H. “Skip” Day, Jr., age 61 of Newton, passed away on Wednesday, January 13th, 2021 at his home.
Born in Franklin to the late Leo H. and Nancy B. (Holley) Day, Leo had been a baker at Dunkin Donuts in Rockaway and Franklin for 25 years, most recently working at Weis Markets in Newton.
Predeceased by his parents and his brother-in-law, Clay Thompson, Leo is survived by loving spouse, Nancy Cooney; son Joseph and his wife Amanda Day; sisters Lisa and her husband Richard Nemeth, Diana Day, Veronica Flood, Shari and her husband Larry Fuller, and Susan Day; brothers Steven and Benjamin Day, and Jason Day and his spouse Joleen Fairchild; grandchild Desiree Day; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A memorial visitation for Leo will be held on Tuesday, January 19th, 2021 from 5-6:30PM at the Ferguson Funeral Home, 27 Third Street, Sussex, NJ 07461. A memorial service will follow at 6:30PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society (cancer.org).
