Sparrow Bush, NY: Peter Joseph Salerno, 62 years old, passed away peacefully at Kaplan Family Hospice in Newburgh, NY on Tuesday, March 9, 2021. Born to Patrick and Doris Salerno in Sussex, NJ, he had lived in Sussex, NJ then Kissimmee, FL and Intercession, FL before moving to Sparrowbush, NY 2 years ago.
Peter worked as a Chef for Antonio’s in Celebration, FL and the Ale House in Kissimmee, FL before retiring. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed cooking for family and friends.
Peter is the beloved father of Alexis Laviscount and her husband, Sean of Eielson AFB, AK. Loving grandfather of Lucien, Violet and Silas. Dear brother of Patrick Salerno of North Redington Beach, FL, Michael Salerno and his wife, Nancy of Sparrowbush, NY, David Salerno and his wife, Karen of Sussex, NJ, Eileen Storms and her husband, Daniel of Franklin, NJ and Donna Salerno of Port Jervis, NY. Cherished by many nieces and nephews.
Private cremation services under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home, 27 Third Street, Sussex, NJ. Burial of cremains to be planned for a later date in the spring at Clove Cemetery, Wantage Twp., NJ. Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers to a favorite animal rescue in Peter’s name would be greatly appreciated.
