Obituary

West Milford, NJ: Leslie Walters Kimble, 80 years old, passed away at Newton Medical Center on Monday, March 15, 2021 after a short illness. Born to Morris and Estelle Kimble in Jefferson Twp., NJ, he was stationed in North Carolina before moving to West Milford, NJ in 1965.

Leslie served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and then worked as a diesel mechanic for Atlantic Detroit Diesel in Lodi for 25 years and then for Tilcon in Riverdale, NJ before retiring in 2005. Leslie was a member of Silentia Lodge # 168, Free and Accepted Masons in Butler, NJ and a member of the Sparta VFW Post # 7248.

Leslie is the beloved husband for 58 years of Janet Kimble(nee Sims). Devoted father of Debra Winn and her husband, Brandon, Diane Lapinski and her husband, Brian, Douglas Kimble and his wife, Brianne and David Kimble. Loving grandfather of Ian, Eli, Mia, Owen, Tessa, Lillian and Adelyn. Dear brother of Irene Utter and Betty Lou VanKirk. Predeceased by his sister, Carolyn Ball.

The family will receive their friends at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main Street, Franklin, NJ on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 from 6-8 PM. Masonic service and Military Honors will follow to close the services. Due to government restrictions, 100 people will be allowed in funeral home at any one time. Cremation is private. Interment of cremains to be scheduled for a later date in North Hardyston Cemetery, Hardyston Twp., NJ. In his passing, Les has asked that in lieu of flowers a donation be made in support of the Skylands Center Offering Autism Programs. Les was an avid supporter of the program, as his son David, has been involved with the program for nearly 30 years. Any donation value is greatly appreciated and will help continue the legacy of the program Les so greatly cherished. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Kimble Family during this difficult time. Janet Kimble has served on the Skylands Board for over 20 years, and, Leslie Kimble and Dianne Lapinski also served a number of years on the Skylands Center Board. The Kimble's support of Skylands Center over the past years has been a key ingredient to Skylands Center's success. Leslie will be missed, but his contributions at Skylands will never be forgotten. I love this man and will miss, and am already missing, him dearly. I know you are with me Les. You are one of my best friends and always will be. I will see you again my friend when it is my time. Dear Lord, Please hold Les in your arms and comfort him and Janet now and forever. Thank you Les and Janet for all the things that you taught me and for being a big part of my family's life.
