Highland Lakes, NJ: Louis George Champy, 78 years old, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 19, 2021 at Karen Ann Quinlan Home for hospice in Fredon Twp., NJ. Born to Louis and Anna Champy in Paterson, NJ, he has been a long-time resident of Highland Lakes, NJ.

Louis served as Sergeant E5 in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a Manager of business development for SM Electric in Rahway, NJ for many years retiring in 2009. Louis enjoyed the outdoors and loved gardening, skiing, golf and was an avid fisherman. He will be remembered most for his good humor and quick wit. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved his family deeply and will be greatly missed.

Louis is the beloved husband of Patricia Champy. Devoted father of Louis F. and his wife, Anna, Christopher and Jennifer. Step father of Sandy. Loving grandfather of Megan, Kyle and Ryan. Cherished great grandfather of Reyce, Olive and Autumn. Dear brother of Lois Cleary.

Private cremation services under the direction of Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94, Vernon, NJ. A Celebration of Louis’s Life will be announced by invite only. Memorial gifts to the Alzheimer’s Assoc. of NJ, or to in honor of his daughter afflicted with this disease, would be greatly appreciated.
