Obituary for Barry R. Maas

Barry R. Maas, age 42 of Wantage, passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 25th, 2021.
Born in Hackensack to Ivy (Barone) and the late Frederick Maas, Jr., Barry lived most of his life in Wantage. A union pipefitter with Local 475 in Warren, Barry lived life by his own rules. He loved bodybuilding and was also a personal trainer. Barry was a car enthusiast, a sneaker & hat collector and he loved his dogs.
Predeceased by his father, Barry is survived by his loving mother, Ivy (Barone) Maas; siblings Fred and his wife Debbie Maas of Glenwood, Nancy and husband Mike Slockbower of Wantage, John and wife Beth of Plainfield & Ryan and wife Sara of Frankford; nephews Michael, Mason, and Myles Slockbower, Dante Maas, and Ryan, Johnny, and Wyatt Maas; as well as many cousins. He is also survived by his devoted dogs, Chooch and Ivy.
A “walk through” visitation for Barry will be held on Thursday, April 29th, 2021 from 4-7:30PM at the Ferguson—Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94 (One Vanderhoof Court for GPS), Vernon, NJ 07462. A funeral service will begin at 7:30PM at the funeral home. Due to social distancing guidelines, only 150 people are permitted in the building at one time. Masks are required. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) as well as the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (www.jdrf.org)
