Obituary for Joseph DePace

Vernon Twp., NJ: Joseph DePace, 84 years old, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Karen Ann Quinlan Home for Hospice, Fredon Twp., NJ. Born to Michael and Antoinette DePace in the Bronx, NY, he has lived in Vernon Twp., NJ for many years.

Joseph served with the United States Air Force during the Korean War and then worked as a Sanitation Engineer for the New York City Sanitation Department for 20 years retiring in 1980. Joseph was a parishioner of St. Francis deSales RC Church in Vernon, NJ and active with the Vernon Twp. Senior Citizens and enjoyed the trips they planned through the local churches. He was also an avid pool player and enjoyed time shared with family.

Joseph is predeceased by his wife, Irene DePace(2018), a son, Christopher DePace, a brother, Eugene DePace and a son in law, Ronald French and is the devoted father of Arlene French-Dutter and her husband, Bob of Lake Ariel, PA, Joseph DePace and his wife, Tamara of Myrtle Beach, SC and Doreen Ziegler and her husband, Jason of Wantage Twp., NJ. Loving grandfather of Ronnie, Kenny, Joseph, Christopher, Destinee and Rianna.

The family will receive their friends for a ‘Walk Through” visitation on Friday, May 7, 2021 from 4-8 PM at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94(1 Vanderhoof Court for GPS), Vernon, NJ. Due to government restrictions, no more than 150 people will be allowed in the funeral home at any one time and face coverings are required by all who enter. Funeral from the funeral home on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 12:30 PM. Funeral Mass will be at St. Francis deSales RC Church, Vernon, NJ Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 1:30 PM. Cremation is private. Burial of cremains will be at Northern New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Sparta, NJ on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at 12 Noon. Memorial gifts to Karen Ann Quinlan Home for Hospice, 99 Sparta Avenue, Newton, NJ 07860 would be greatly appreciated.
