Obituary for Frederick A. Jones
Frederick A. Jones, age 83 of Franklin, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, May 22nd, 2021 at his home.
Born in Elizabeth to the late Cyril and Alice (Bonney) Jones, Frederick was the youngest of twelve children. He had been a lifelong resident of Sussex County, settling in Franklin in 1975.
Frederick had worked in the Sterling Hills Zinc Mine in Ogdensburg for fourteen years before beginning his twenty-five-year career as a custodian at the Franklin Elementary School.
Predeceased by his parents, Frederick is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Jones; sons Floyd Jones and his wife Nashea of Florham Park, and David Jones and wife Paula, of East Bangor, PA; and his grandchildren Amber and Aiden Jones, Artis Haynes, and Sarah and Emily Jones.
A visitation for Frederick will be on Wednesday, May 26th, 2021 from 3-7PM at the F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main Street, Franklin, NJ 07416. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 27th, 11AM also at the funeral home. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, only 100 people are permitted in the building at one time. All visitors are required to wear masks. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice Foundation, 99 Sparta Avenue, Newton, NJ 07860.
