Obituary for Edward Platvoet
Edward Platvoet age 85 of Hardyston passed away on Monday, June 28th, 2021 at his home.
Born in Paterson to the late Edward and Klarina (Onos) Platvoet, Edward grew up there and lived in Wyckoff, Ogdensburg, and Franklin, NJ and Cincinnati, OH before retiring from ITT and settling in Hardyston fifteen years ago.
Edward had been a Freemason for fifty-eight years. Active in his community, he had also been a member of the Wallkill Golf Club, and was a former Scout and Cub master and baseball coach when his children were young.
Predeceased by his parents, Edward is survived by his loving wife, Grace A. (Shew) Platvoet; children Glenn and wife Catherine Platvoet, Carl Platvoet and his partner Patricia Heredia, and Dale Riedener, all of Franklin; sister Anne Michielsen of VA; five grandchildren, Erica, Alexis, Logan, Lee Anne, and Ryan; as well as one great-grandson, Jasper.
Services for Edward are private and under the direction of the F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main Street, Franklin, NJ 07416. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choosing.
