Obituary for Carolina "Caroline" Chmarney (Stepien)

Carolina Chmarney(nee Stepien), 93 years old,
passed away peacefully at the Chelsea in Montville on Tuesday, February 1, 2022.
Born Karolina(Caroline) Stepien on January 11, 1929 in Ksiezpol, a small farming
town in Poland, the daughter of Anthony Stepien and Maria Ciosmak.

Carolina grew up during WWII where she endured
dislocation and was forced to work in the German camps. She came to the United
States in the early 1960’s before the Kennedy Assassination in November of 1963.
She married Stephen Peter Chmarney on June 29, 1968 and became a United
States Citizen on August 30, 1974.

Predeceased by her husband, Stephen(1/5/1992), she was the last surviving
member of her siblings, Anthony, Peter, Stephen and Anna.
Carolina is the beloved mother of 2 sons, Tadeusz Stepien and Steven Chmarney,
2 grandchildren, Daniel and Cynthia and a great granddaughter,
Isabella Boral.

The family will receive their friends at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route
94(1 Vanderhoof Court for GPS), Vernon, NJ on Saturday, February 5, 2022 from
10 to 11:15 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Our Lady of Fatima RC
Church, Highland Lakes, NJ at 12 Noon. Interment will be Monday, February 7,
2022 at St. John’s Cemetery, Schooley Avenue, Exeter, PA at 12:00 Noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301 would be appreciated. Information and condolences can be found at www.fergusonvernonfuneralhome.com
