Obituary for Thomas Earl Card

Wantage Twp., NJ: Thomas Earl Card, 66 years old, passed away unexpectedly at Newton Medical Center on Monday, February 14, 2022. Born to Clyde and Gloria Card in Sussex, NJ, he was raised and lived in Sussex before moving to Wantage Twp. in 1994.

Thomas worked as a State Park Ranger at High Point State Park for many years, retiring in 2005 as a Regional Chief Ranger. After retirement, he volunteered and worked at the New Jersey School of Conservation. He served on the Sussex-Wantage Board of Education as President and member. Tom was a Cub Scout Leader for Pack 84 and Boy Scout Leader for Troop 97. Tom took great joy in the outdoors including, hiking, kayaking, travelling, especially Gettysburg trips and when inside, enjoyed gaming.

Thomas is the beloved husband for 35 years to Debra Ann Card (nee Cosh) of Wantage Twp., NJ. Devoted father of Christopher Thomas Card and Sarah Ann Card, both at home. Dear brother of Jack Card and his wife, Mary of Sussex, NJ, Jeffery Card of Sussex, NJ and Gary Card and his wife, Helen of Stanhope, NJ. Son- in- law of Joyce Cosh of Wantage Twp., NJ. Cherished by several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive their friends at Ferguson Funeral Home, 27 Third Street, Sussex, NJ for memorial visitation on Saturday, February 19, 2022 from 11-1 PM. Family and friends may share their favorite stories. Cremation is private. Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers to The Gettysburg Foundation, 1195 Baltimore Pike, Gettysburg, PA 17325 would be appreciated.
