Michael A. Mauro, age 96 of Hardyston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 8th, 2022 at his home.
Born in Nutley to the late James and Lucy (Frunzi) Mauro, Michael grew up there before enlisting in the Navy to serve his country during World War II. Following his service, Michael worked for Hoffmann La Roche in Nutley, where he retired as a manager of encapsulation.
Michael was passionate about baseball and was an avid Yankees Fan. He was also a NY Giants fan. Michael enjoyed music and loved singing Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Al Martino, and other great crooners.
Predeceased by his wife, Jean (Bibby) Mauro; son, Michael Mauro; and three brothers, James, John, and Albert Mauro, Michael is survived by his loving daughter, Cathy Walker and her husband Douglas, of Hardyston; grandchildren Douglas Michael Walker and his wife Kimberly of Sparta, and Kimberly Marie Moeller of Warwick, NY; as well as his great-grandchildren Drew, Jack, Kiersten, Ryan, and Brad.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 11th, 2022, 10AM at the Laurel Grove Mausoleum, 295 Totowa Road, Totowa, NJ 07512. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ferguson—Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94 (PO Box 329), Vernon, NJ 07462. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association (heart.org)
