Obituary for Patricia Ann Frey (Davis)

Stockholm, NJ: Patricia (Patty) Ann Frey, 74 years old, passed away surrounded by family after a long illness at Morristown Medical Center on Monday, June 20, 2022.

Born to Paul and Barbara Davis in Passaic County, NJ, Patty was the oldest of 6 children who were not only her siblings but became her best friends. Her ties to them remained constant and at the forefront throughout her life. In 1965, Patty began her own small family when she married Arthur T. Frey and had two children of her own. The small family moved from New Jersey to Ft Meyers Beach, Fl in 1973 but found their forever home in Stockholm, NJ in 1978. While she cultivated her family, Patty also cultivated a group of friends that lasted a lifetime. There was never a lack of family and camaraderie that followed.

Patty worked as an administrator for Sussex County Municipal Utilities Authority in Lafayette Twp., NJ for 30 years before retiring to spend more time with family and friends, traveling to visit her daughter and son, and enjoying her grandchildren. She was an avid reader and enjoyed trips to the shore, shopping, and chatting over a cup (or several cups) of tea.

Patty is predeceased by both of her parents, a brother Paul Davis, and a sister Margaret Davis. She is the beloved wife of 57 years of Arthur T. Frey, devoted mother of Amy (Joseph) Zupko of Bennington VT and Arthur (Alyssa) Frey III of Capon Bridge, WVa. Loving grandmother of Joseph (Ginamarie) Zupko, James (Lyndsey) Zupko, Allyson Zupko, and Astrid Frey, and four great-grandchildren, Ayden Zupko, Aaliyah Zupko, Chase (Mooney) and Asher Zupko. She leaves behind three sisters; Kathleen Davis of Sparta NJ, Marilyn (Lou) Volpe of Hopatcong, NJ and one brother, Roy (Sue Nixon) Davis of Wantage, NJ. She was cherished by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of friends made along the way.
