Obituary for Albina K. LaBar

Vernon: Albina "Skip" K. La Bar, 85, passed away on Monday June 27, 2022 at her residence. Skip was born on April 10, 1937 in Jersey City, NJ to Charles and Frances (Kakoleski) Lewandowski. Skip has been a resident of Vernon since 1967. Prior to then, she split her time between Jersey City and her family's summer residence in Highland Lakes, where she met the love of her life, Rich.

Skip was a graduate of Seton Hall University where she received her degree in Elementary Education. She taught for 30 years, starting in Union City, Menlo Park, and Woodbridge, and retired in 1996 from Vernon Township Board of Education. She was a member of the Polish National Alliance, the Sussex County Retired Educators, and a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales RC Church in Vernon.

Skip was predeceased by her parents, her husband Richard S. La Bar Sr., her brothers, Carl J. Lewandowski and Adam Lewandowski and sister, Eugenia Kreidler.
Skip is survived by her children, Katherine F. La Bar of Vernon, Richard S. La Bar Jr. and his wife Bridget of Harding, and Joseph C. La Bar of Fernandina Beach, FL, and his fiance Amiee James, her cherished grandchildren, Joseph, Nicole, Danielle, Philip and Annie and her many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial service on Thursday June 30, 2022, at St. Francis de Sales RC Church 614 Rt 517, Vernon, NJ at 10:00 AM committal and interment service at Glenwood Cemetery, Vernon, NJ.
