Obituary for Joan E. Magee
Hamburg; Joan E. Magee, 86 passed away on July 20, 2022. Joan was born on August 3, 1935 in Paterson, New Jersey to Peter and Elizabeth (Oldham) Vandercliff. Joan was a resident of Pompton Lakes and Hamburg, New Jersey.
Joan was predeceased by her husband Robert W. Magee in 2018 and her siblings, Elizabeth Coventry and Peter Vandercliff.
Joan soon became a friend to anyone she met and was always seen laughing with her children and grandchildren. She and her husband, Bob, raised their family in Pompton Lakes, NJ where they were active members of St. Mary's RC Church. Joan was an active and loving mother and wife, often seen working as a volunteer for her children's activities, some of which included Boy/Girl Scouts and High School Band Boosters.
Joan was a Bank Manager for Columbia Savings and Loan in Wayne, New Jersey retiring in 1991. She was more recently a parishioner at St. Francis de Sales RC Church and was a member of the Red Hat Club and the Hardyston Senior Citizens Club.
She is survived by her children; Robert J. Magee and his wife Marylee of Mooresville, NC, Melory Weber and her husband Robert of Highland Lakes, NJ, Michael P. Magee and his wife Karen of Pompton Lakes and Elizabeth Stitz and her husband David of Ramsey and her cherished eleven grandchildren, their significant others (whom she considered her grandchildren), six great-grandchildren and her nieces and nephews, whom she also considered to be her own.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial service at St. Francis de Sales RC Church 614 Route 517, Vernon, NJ on Thursday July 28, 2022 at 11AM committal service to follow at the Northern New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery 75 North Church Road, Sparta, NJ.
