Alice Hahn, age 81 of Vernon, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 30th, 2022 at her home, with her daughter and son-in-law by her side.
Born in Brooklyn to the late Francis and Alice (Waldron) O’Connor, Alice grew up in Queens, where she met her husband, Robert. Together, they settled in Vernon in 1968. Alice was a parishioner of Saint Monica’s RC Church in Sussex, where she taught generations of children in CCD. She had also been a member of the Pochuck Valley Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary for over thirty years.
Predeceased by her husband, Robert E. Hahn; granddaughter Jennifer Lynn Papa; and sister, Maureen McDonald, Alice is survived by her daughter, MaryAlice and her husband Thomas Papa; granddaughters Brittany Papa and her partner Evan Dickerson, Ashley Papa and husband Santiago Marin, and Christine Papa; as well as a great-granddaughter Emilia Lynn Marin, and sister, Theresa Hayward and her husband Donald and many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Alice will be on Friday, August 5th, 2022 from 4-8PM at the Ferguson—Vernon Funeral Home, (One Vanderhoof Court for GPS) 241 Route 94, Vernon, NJ 07462. A Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, August 6th, 10AM at the St. Monica’s RC Church in Sussex. Burial in the North Hardyston Cemetery will follow.
