Obituary for Joanna A. Stickle

Joanna A. Stickle, age 81 of Wantage, passed away on Tuesday, August 30th, 2022 at the Newton Medical Center.
Born in New York, NY to the late Angelo and Adeline (Curcio) Polito, Joanna grew up in the Bronx, and had lived in Totowa, Wayne, Leonia, Newfoundland, Hardyston, and Vernon, before settling in Wantage three years ago.
Joanna had worked as a payroll administrator for Allied Beverage in Carlstadt. Active in her community, Joanna been a member of the Long Pond Ironworks Park, where she served on the board of directors and was a treasurer. She had also volunteered with the Ringwood Historical Society in the gift shop, during the Victorian Christmas and Spring events. Joanna enjoyed crocheting, politics, and was a history buff. She traveled extensively in her younger years.
Predeceased by her husband, Glenn Alan Stickle, Joanna is survived by her children, George Soder and his wife Nancy, of Fredon, Timothy Soder and wife Patricia of North Carolina, Pamela Soder of Wantage, and Gregory Soder and wife Kim of Tinton Falls; as well as her nine grandchildren, Tonya, Tara, George, Timothy, Daniel, Scott, Megan, Kelly, and Thomas; and nine great-grandchildren; and brother, Phil Polito.
A visitation for Joanna will be held on Saturday, September 3rd, 2022 from 9-11AM at the Ferguson—Vernon Funeral Home, (One Vanderhoof Court for GPS) 241 Route 94, Vernon, NJ 07462. A funeral service will follow at 11AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the North Hardyston Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Joseph’s Indian School, PO Box 300, Chamberlain, SD 57325 or the Long Pond Iron Works, Inc., PO Box 809, Hewitt, NJ 07421.
