Obituary for Bruce Arthur Toner
Allentown, PA: Bruce Arthur Toner, 73 years old,passed away peacefully at Valley Manor Rehabilitation
and Care Center, Coopersburg, PA on Thursday, October 6, 2022. The son of the late Gerald F. Toner and Hazel
(Rude) Toner, Bruce was a longtime resident of Allentown, PA.
He grew up on the family farm outside Unionville, NY, and graduated from Minisink Valley Central High School.
Bruce received his degree in Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY, and then
worked as a mechanical engineer for Pennsylvania Power and Light Co. in Allentown, PA for many years
before retiring. Bruce was a follower of formula and sport car racing and traveled to Europe to see them
manufactured and in competition.
Bruce is survived by his brother Gerald A. Toner and wife Susan of Alexandria, VA, nephew Austin A.J. Toner and his wife Shina currently residing in Tokyo, Japan and cousins Daniel S. Toner of Saratoga Springs, NY, Neil E. Toner of Warwick, NY, Robert Rude of Dover, NJ, Sue Plaza of Hamburg, NJ and Pat Terpstra, of Sussex, NJ.
The family will receive their friends at Ferguson Funeral Home, 27 Third Street, Sussex, NJ on Saturday, October 15, 2022 from 11- 1 pm. Funeral service will commence at 1 PM. Interment to follow at Unionville Cemetery, Unionville, NY.
