Obituary for Bertha Sanders (Martin)
McAfee: Bertha Sanders, 84 passed away peacefully on Friday, November 18, 2022 at the Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, Fredon Twp., NJ. Bertha was born on October 9, 1938 in Allamuchy to Julia and Russell Martin.
Bertha was a homemaker and helped her husband Hank in their family business, Hank Sanders Paving. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed traveling, reading books, crafting, and taking care of her home and her family. Bertha especially enjoyed quilting and making quilts for her beloved family members. She was also a past member of the McAfee Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
Bertha was predeceased by her daughter, Diana Sanders (1991), her husband, Henry “Hank” Sanders (2019), 8 brothers and 3 sisters.
She is survived by her devoted son, Henry and his wife Kim, her three grandchildren, James Sanders and his wife Brooke, Julie Sanders, Erin Sanders and her fiancée Dakota Hess-Baker, two great grandsons, Hunter and Austin, a brother Gerald Lewis, two sisters, Patricia and Lisa and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends will be received on Sunday, December 4, 2022 from 11am to 1PM at the Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home 241 Rt. 94, Vernon NJ (GPS use 1 Vanderhoof Court). In lieu of flowers donations to the Karen Ann Quinlan, 99 Sparta Ave., Newton, NJ 07860.
