Obituary for Gale E. Banta (Bath)

Port Charlotte, FL: Gale E. Banta(Nee Bath), 87 years old, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 2, 2022 after a long illness at Solaris Healthcare, Charlotte Harbor in Port Charlotte, FL. Born to the late Glenwood and Mary Bath in Hardyston Twp., NJ, she lived in Franklin, NJ for 70 years before moving to Port Charlotte, FL 17 years ago.

Gale worked as a secretary for Caristia, Kulsar and Wade Public Accountants in Sparta NJ retiring in 1993 and then worked for the North Hardyston Cemetery Association retiring in 2009. Gale was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Northern Chapter # 38, served on the Hardyston Township Board of Health, was a leader in the Brownies and Girl Scouts and was a member of the Lafayette Twp. Senior Citizens, the Newton Homemakers and various other organizations. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Franklin.

Gale is predeceased by her husband, Richard “Dick” Banta(2010), a brother, William F. Bath and a sister, Joyce M. Bath and is the devoted mother of Sherrie A. Banta of Sparta, NJ, Robin L. Banta of Port Charlotte, FL and Renee L. Banta and her husband, Edward Cahalan of St. Augustine, FL. Loving grandmother of Kelly L. Oliver and her husband, Steven and Derek J. Drossel and his wife, Kellie Megan. Cherished great grandmother of Wayne D. Oliver, Eric R. Drossel and Cameron Drossel. Dear sister of Glenwood R Bath of Port Charlotte, FL, Shirley L. Rapole of Waldorf, MD and Betty Jane Chirico of Roseburg, OR. Also survived by several nieces and nephews and family friend, Carla J. Campbell.

The family will receive their friends on Sunday, December 11, 2022 from 5-8 PM at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main Street, Franklin, NJ. Funeral service will be Monday, December 12, 2022 at the funeral home at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at North Hardyston Cemetery, Hardyston Twp., NJ. Memorial gifts to the National Kidney Foundation or the First Presbyterian Church of Franklin would be greatly appreciated.
