Obituary for Lajos Varga
Lajos Varga, age 82 of North Bergen, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 1st, 2022 at the Palisades Medical Center in North Bergen.
Born in Mogyorod, Hungary to the late Lajos and Maria (Pasztor) Varga, Lajos came to the United States when he was a teenager and has lived in North Bergen ever since. Lajos served in the US Army infantry, and after his service he became a construction worker with the Laborers Union International, Local #3 out of Mountainside, NJ. Lajos will be remembered as a fiercely independent person, who was very well-liked in his community; making him the unofficial mayor of North Bergen.
Predeceased by his parents, Lajos is survived by his daughters, Cynthia Mura and Heather Varga; grandchildren Melissa Latronico (Alfred), Stacy Mura, and Briana Maikranz; and he was the devoted Papa to two great-grandchildren, Lajos and Hunter Latronico.
