Lillian R. Thompson, age 80 of Vernon, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 29th, 2022 at her home.
Born in Jersey City to the late Walter and Loretta (Burns) Lum, Lillian grew up in North Bergen; settling in the Cliffwood Lake section of Vernon in 1975.
Predeceased by her parents; brother, Walter Lum; and son, Scott Patrick Thompson, Lillian is survived by her loving husband of fifty-five years, Ret. Major Richard P. Thompson; son, Richard P. Thompson II and his wife Brandy, of Vernon; and three grandchildren, Allison and Hannah Thompson and Katrina Nielsen.
A visitation for Lillian will be held on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023, 3-7PM at the Ferguson—Vernon Funeral Home, (One Vanderhoof Court for GPS) 241 Route 94, Vernon, NJ 07462. A graveside service will be on Wednesday, January 4th, 11AM at the Madonna Cemetery in Fort Lee, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice Foundation, 99 Sparta Avenue, Newton, NJ 07860.
