Obituary for Barry Wayne Freeman

Glenwood- Barry Wayne Freeman, 70 years old, died peacefully at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ on Wednesday, January 4, 2023.

Born in Passaic, NJ, to Nancy and Russell Freeman, Barry was a Printing and Sales Specialist for Ricoh Company Limited and IBM for 30 years before his retirement in 2020. He loved the challenge of a tough sale and was widely respected by his clients and his colleagues for his dedication, drive, and passion.

Barry and his wife Julie were married in 1983 and have enjoyed 39 years of marriage, travel, and evenings at home with their family. He loved rock music (especially anything with a great beat) and playing the drums for a crowd or for his daughters. He loved his home and often could be found enjoying time outside in the yard or on the deck. Barry loved all animals; he couldn’t pass a dog or a cat without a pet and often would send his daughters pictures of bears, deer, foxes, and squirrels as they passed by the house.

His biggest accomplishment in life was his two daughters, Kelly and Chelsea, whom he loved more than anything in the world. He was the best father and friend to his girls. He was known for giving the best hugs and never hesitated to let the girls know they were loved.

Predeceased by his parents and siblings, Barry is survived by his wife; Julie (Gordon), and his two daughters; Kelly Freeman of Montclair and Chelsea Freeman of Clifton.

Cremation is private and under the direction of Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94, Vernon, NJ. Internment of cremains will be held at a later date at Glenwood Cemetery, Vernon, NJ.
