Sussex, NJ: Elizabeth Catherine Yanvary(nee Romyns), 93 years old, passed away peacefully after a long illness. Born to Charles and Esther Romyns in Franklin, NJ, she had lived in Franklin, NJ, Sparta,NJ and Lady Lakes, Fl before moving to Wantage Twp., NJ in 1998.
Elizabeth owned and operated with her husband, Gabriel, the Sears Catalog Store in Sussex, NJ from 1968-1975 and the Dairy Queen in Sussex, NJ before retiring in 1987. Elizabeth enjoyed gardening, cooking, walks at Woodbourne Park and was very active and athletic.
Elizabeth is predeceased by her husband, Gabriel Alfred Yanvary(2013), a sister, Margaret “Peggy” Day, granddaughter, Jennifer Van Engelen Treadwell, 2 great grandchildren, Patrick and Hunter Treadwell, grandson in law, Curtis Treadwell, sister in law Lillian Yull and daughters in law Leia Yanvary and Mary Yanvary and is the devoted mother of William C. Yanvary of Wantage Twp., NJ, Patti Van Engelen of Sussex, NJ and Robert J. Yanvary of Stuart, FL. Loving grandmother of Kristen L. Balunas and her husband, Drew and Jessica E. Campbell. Great grandmother of Alexandra and Dylan Balunas and Christopher J. Campbell. Dear sister of Catherine Tucker of Florida.
Private cremation services under the direction of F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main Street, Franklin, NJ. Graveside service will be scheduled for a later date. Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers to a favorite Veteran Charity would be greatly appreciated.
