Roy O. Poltersdorf, Jr., age 58 of Callicoon, NY, passed away on Saturday, January 21st, 2023 at his home.
Born in Oradell, NJ to Carol (Kalker) and the late Roy Poltersdorf, Sr., Roy grew up in the Glenwood section of Vernon. After his graduation from the Sussex County Vocational School in 1983, Roy joined the US Army, where he served in the 33rd Infantry Unit.
Roy enjoyed skiing, attending concerts, and camping, and anything to do with cars or motorcycles, especially going to car shows. Roy worked as a mechanic for the Youngsville Garage in Youngsville, NY. He also loved his dogs, Brennan and Duncan.
Predeceased by his father, Roy O. Poltersdorf, Sr., Roy is survived by his wife, Linda (Passante) Poltersdorf; mother Carol Poltersdorf; brothers Todd and wife Nicki Poltersdorf and Scott Poltersdorf; stepchildren Bryan and wife Laura Sandler, Samantha Sandler, and Michael Sandler and his companion Sean Lisowski; and grandchildren Eli, Emmett, Evelyn, and Eric. He is also survived by his nieces Abby and Ashley Poltersdorf; aunts Donna DeFeo, Margaret Ledwith, and Melody Sabo; uncles David and Thomas Poltersdorf, and William Kalker; and his beloved dogs Brennan and Duncan.
Visitation for Roy will be held on Friday, January 27th, 2023, from 4-8PM at the Ferguson—Vernon Funeral Home, (One Vanderhoof Court for GPS) 241 Route 94, Vernon, NJ 07462. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 28th, 10AM at the funeral home. Burial in the Glenwood Cemetery will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project (woundedwarriorproject.org).
