Obituary for James L. Grasso
James L. Grasso, 57, of Highland Lakes, NJ passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 7th, 2023.
Jim began his life in the Bronx born to Michael and Edna (Lee) Grasso. He worked as an insurance salesman for WRG Company for many years, settling in Highland Lakes in 2007. Jim would go on to marry Darlene (Kudla) Grasso with whom he built a wonderful life.
Many would say that Jim was one of the kindest people they knew, someone with an old soul and an appreciation for times past. He was an avid collector of cars, old toys, antiques, and other memorabilia from the vintage years. Although Jim was known for his impeccable sense of style and always dressed well, he could often be found puttering around outside mowing the lawn or tending to their beautiful gardens with Darlene.
When not outside tinkering with cars or working in the yard, Jim was often found sitting in his recliner watching the classics on Turner Classic Movies (TCM), Sherlock Holmes mysteries or his favorite sports teams whether it be the Yankees, the Giants or Michigan. Jim was a man of simple pleasures who was deeply loved by his wife and many others. He was a kind and loving husband who will be deeply missed.
Predeceased by his parents, James is survived by his adoring wife Darlene (Kudla) Grasso.
A visitation for Jim will be held on Monday, February 13th, 2023 from 3PM – 7PM, funeral service to take place at 6:30PM, at the Ferguson – Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94 Vernon, NJ 07462 (1 Vanderhoof Court for GPS).
