Wantage Twp.- Joyce Priscilla Meincke (nee Glock), 93 years old, passed away peacefully at the Karen Ann Quinlan Home for Hospice, Saturday, February 11, 2023. Born to Amelia (Scharch) and George Glock in Passaic, NJ, Joyce had been a resident of Wantage Twp. since 1963. She devoted her life to raising her family and homemaking as well as always finding new ways in which to express her creativity. She participated in mail order courses and later, online courses in a variety of subjects including various art forms and technology. She was a computer expert before many people dreamed of owning a computer. She was a skilled seamstress, making many of the family's clothing through the years. A proficient doll-maker, she created hundreds of dolls and teddy bears over her lifetime. She was an accomplished knitter as well as crocheter making everything from clothing to rugs to toys. She enjoyed refinishing furniture and revitalizing rustic pieces with tole painting. Joyce saw beauty and potential in the most humble objects and enjoyed giving them new life with her many talents. She dabbled in jewelry making, weaving, various forms of rug-making, bread dough art, paper mache and many other mediums. She got pleasure from gardening, canning, preserving, jelly-making. Joyce loved animals and had many beloved pets throughout the years including goats, squirrels, a skunk, and many dogs, cats and birds. Her understanding and accepting nature drew family as well as strangers who sensed in her a kind and sympathetic ear in which to confide their troubles. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. She stayed young her whole life due to the joy and gratification she found in her creative endeavors, her curiosity, thirst for knowledge, and desire to try new things.

Joyce is predeceased by her parents, her sister, Doris Edelbach, her brothe,r George Glock and her beloved husband Harry (2020). She was the loving mother of Elise Castner and her husband, James of Wantage Twp., NJ, Matthew Meincke and his wife, Shannon of Montague, NJ and Tracy VandenAkker and her husband, Henry of Wantage Twp., NJ. Devoted Grandmother of Mia, Evan, Elias, Leah, and Hope. Loving Great Grandmother of Evalyn, Weston, and Sienna.
