Obituary for William V "Bill" Sutphen Jr.
Wantage- William “Bill” V. Sutphen, Jr., 66 years old, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at Newton Medical Center. Born to William Sr., and Mildred (Schlosser) in Newark, NJ, Bill lived in Highland Lakes, and Vernon Twp., before moving to Wantage Twp., 7 years ago.
Bill was an Iron worker for 45 years before his retirement in 2019. He loved to go fishing, kayaking and also enjoyed drawing and painting.
Bill was predeceased by his loving wife, Cindy six weeks ago, his parents, and brother, Thomas. He is survived by his devoted grandchildren, Katrina Nielsen and her fiancée Dalton Weller, Eric Montanaro, Paige Radovanovic and her husband Alec, and Johnny Kauffman. His step-children, Candice Kauffman and William Nielsen. Beloved brother of Mildred DeGroat, Diana Tintle, Judy Ballard, Georgeanna Hart, Laura Wallace and Russell Sutphen and his wife Gail. Bill is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
The family will receive their friends at Ferguson Funeral Home, 27 Third Street, Sussex, NJ on Thursday, March 23, 2023, from 4pm-8pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023 at the funeral home at 11AM. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood, NJ.
