Marilyn Faye Howell (83) died at Morristown Medical Center on March 29, 2023 after a long illness. Marilyn was born to Ethel (Babb) and Harry Skellenger on June 14, 1939 in Franklin. Due to family illnesses at the time of her birth, she was raised by her Aunt Frances (Jones) and Uncle Harry Babb as one of their own.
Marilyn married her husband of 49 years in November, 1955. They lived in Franklin, moving to Hamburg in 1962. She lived in Hamburg for the remainder of her life.
Before her retirement, Marilyn was employed as a school bus driver, first with Dunn’s Bus Service, and later with Havens Bus Service. She also worked at Plastoid Corporation in Franklin. Marilyn was a past member of the Hamburg First Aid Squad.
Marilyn was predeceased by her husband Obediah (Obie) in 2005. She was also predeceased by her siblings – Shelia Becker, Joan Walsh and Frederick John Skellenger. She is survived by her three children- Harry Howell of Hamburg, Wendy Howell of Hamburg, and Amy Cerino of Long Island.
Final arrangements are entrusted to the F. John Ramsey Funeral Home in Franklin, NJ. There will be a memorial and a celebration of life scheduled at a later date to commemorate Marilyn’s passing.
