Obituary for Janina Ann "Jen" Wycalek
Janina Wycalek, age 76, died Tuesday, April 25th, 2023, at the Karen Ann Quinlan Home for Hospice in Fredon.
Jen, as she was known to her friends, was born in Orange, NJ and lived in Cedar Grove. After her graduation from Cedar Grove High School Class of 1964, she attended the Katherine Gibbs School in Montclair. Upon completing her studies, she worked in the trust department of the National Newark and Essex Bank in Newark. She furthered her career in banking and retired from PNC Bank in 1998. Jen always loved nature and took the opportunity to move to Walpack, NJ that same year.
As time progressed, she joined the Walpack Historical Society and became a dedicated volunteer at the Van Campen Inn, conducting tours relating to Walpack’s rich and vibrant history. Jen also served as deputy mayor in her adopted hometown of Walpack.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, May 1st, 2023, 10:30AM at the St. Thomas RC Church in Sandyston. Memorial donations may be made to the Walpack Historical Society (PO Box 212, Layton, NJ 07851) or the Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice Foundation (99 Sparta Avenue, Newton, NJ 07860). Arrangements are under the direction of the F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main Street, Franklin, NJ 07416.
