Obituary for Beth "Birdie" Thompson
Beth “Birdie” Thompson, age 56 of Wantage, passed away suddenly on Friday, November 17th, 2023 at her home.
Born in Pequannock to the late Charity (Babcock) and Harrison Thompson, II, Birdie grew up in Franklin and lived in Hamburg and Sussex before settling in Wantage thirty years ago. Prior to her retirement, she was a manager at the Franklin Wash N’ Lube Car Wash. Known as the matriarch of her family, Birdie lived for her family. She always planned dinners and trips and cherished her time together with them. Birdie had a big heart and a big personality and was always sure to make people smile and laugh. She loved couponing, making people laugh, and above all else, her family.
Predeceased by her parents; brothers Danny, Jess, Bob, Clay, and Bruce Thompson; sister Susan Edwards, and granddaughter Everly Jade,Birdie is survived by her loving partner Eugene “Gene” Dekmar; their beloved fur baby, Bella; brother Harrison Thompson, III and his wife Lorraine; sisters Sally Corter, Gail Thompson and fiancé Jay Husky, and Mary Thompson and partner Joe Presher; her grandchildren Andre and Clayton, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Birdie will be held on Monday, November 20th, 2023, 4-8PM at the F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main Street, Franklin, NJ 07416. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 21st, 10 AM at the funeral home. Burial in the North Hardyston Cemetery will follow.
