My sincere condolences to your family. I've known Alan for many years and loved to listen to stories of his travel adventures, especially his trip to Easter island. He was so pleasant to talk to and I will miss him and our conversations.

Pauline, Needless to say I was shocked when I heard this news. I had no idea he had been ill for some time. As your daughter said, he was "interesting" and I've always enjoyed the few conversations I've had with him. I hope to attend the viewing. May he RIP. And please accept my deepest condolences. Love, Gloria

We are so sorry to hear about the passing of our friend of 46 years. It truly grieves us to hear this and to know we did not have one more chance to speak with him. Our prayers go out to his family. As Pauline said—until the resurrection when we meet again, Alan! Everett and Jessi Pladini

For better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health. We really were through it all. Rest in peace until the resurrection. With love, Pauline

My dad wasn’t perfect. I won’t insult his memory with any sappy sentimental “the world lost a great man” crap (and he would have hated that anyway). But he was interesting, for sure. If you knew my dad at all, then you know that he was ALWAYS barefoot.🦶And it certainly made people take notice. While looking through some archives and gathering photos, I came across a caricature that appeared in an article written about him in 2012. It’s actually a remarkable resemblance, and the article was a neat read. He really was a “Sole Man”. Read the article here: https://njmonthly.com/articles/jersey-living/sole-man/
