Obituary

Harvey Wasserman, age 75 of Vernon, passed away on Tuesday, July 9th, 2019 following a courageous eighteen month battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born in Brooklyn to Mildred (Fried) and the late Kurt Wasserman, Harvey lived in Ringwood, NJ, graduating from Lakeland High School. He then went on to earn his BS at University of Arizona. Following graduation, Harvey moved to Syracuse with his wife and also resided in Highland Park before settling in Vernon many years ago.
Harvey was an entrepreneur at heart, running his own company and then joining forces with Diamond Chemical as Vice President of Sales.
An avid outdoorsman, Harvey enjoyed traveling, fishing, hunting, ham radio, and pretty much anything that involved being outside or near water. He loved being with his friends and attending family parties, especially for the food. He was always known to put his family first.
Predeceased by his father, Harvey is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Linda (Rosenfeld) Wasserman; daughters Robin DeAngelo of Kinnelon and Kim Fishman and her husband Ian of Sparta; grandchildren Stephanie, Dylan, Jake, Allie, and Alex; brother Pinchas Wasserman of Lakewood; sisters Gail Connors and Ann Wasserman; and mother Mildred Wasserman, all of Ringwood. He is also survived by his many relatives and loving friends.
A funeral service for Harvey will be held on Friday, July 12th, 2019 at 11:30 AM at the Ferguson—Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94, (One Vanderhoof Court for GPS), Vernon, NJ 07642. The family will receive guests from 10:30 to 11:30am. Burial will follow in the Sons of Israel Cemetery in Hardyston.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (www.pancan.org)

My deepest condolences to Linda, Kim, Robin, my daughter Stephanie and all of Harvey's loved ones (and there were many!) I was privileged to be part of Harvey's family for several years. He was a wonderful man who loved his family and friends dearly and loved spending his time with them enjoying good and fun times, making them laugh and watching them all enjoy each other. I have many fond memories of Harvey such as our fishing trip with friends to Lake Ontario, early Sunday morning fishing at various north Jersey lakes, a long scenic drive in his much cherished Corvette to have a talk about fatherhood when we learned we were having a child (his first grandchild, Stephanie). I can still see myself, Harvey and Robin rollerblading down the street in Rehoboth Beach during one of the many family vacations spent there and at Beach Haven. Right now, I bet Harvey is being welcomed to the next phase by getting a big hug from his best friend, Harry, and the two of them sitting back with a cold one, reminiscing of all the wonderful times and their friendship. I will keep those memories with me all my life and he can be very proud of the wonderful legacy he created with his loving wife Linda...2 beautiful and amazing daughter (Kim and Robin), several grandchildren who loved and adored him, his sisters and mother and so many other relatives and friends.
